Ive had one similar phone call although it was a sales man trying to reach my mom. At first I thought he was a friend of hers when she talked about the weather and what he has done and asked me what ive done during summer, then he asked about how my parents we're doing and such like that. The call lasted around 10min and right at the end he asks "Would you like to order The Garfield Movie?". At that point I couldnt hold my laugh and just had to hang up. Just why would you ask all those questons if you're trying to sell me Garfield Movie?

My family always gets these types of calls. I've heard that they are just trying to trick you into giving out information such as your bank account. In short, these calls don't come from Microsoft, they come from phishers.

Mostly I have heared they try to install a special designed program which looks a bit like TeamViewer, but then worse. It is a program that they can just take over your computer at any time and just watch with you what you are doing INCLUDING you filling in your bank account information. So yeah.. This is total bullshit and phishing..
