Need Help New Computer!!!
Need Help New Computer!!!
I'm getting a new laptop as my graduation present. I can only spend MAX $450. I want it to do everything it's normally designed to do.
(Internet, Microsoft office, etc.)
Only thing is i don't know what kind to get, or what should be in it. I also wanted it to be able to run steam and CS:S, not for full on hours of game play, but just well enough to run it. Be great if you guys could show me the right things. Maybe some links to some laptops too. Also i will be useing it for HS.

Go for it. If I was forced to get a laptop (instead of a desktop) I'd get a Sager.

Re: Need Help New Computer!!!
Found a couple things of interest on newegg,
Being a large fan of ASUS myself, I stumbled across one of their (apparently very few) laptops.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834230241
However I've also heard Lenovo is a solid company for Laptops (Specifically) and I found one with a more powerful CPU, though with a bit less storage capacity.

If you're just looking for someone to tell you what to buy, then if you prefer large storage which you'll probably never use anyways, get the Asus (top). If you want something a little more beefy with the sacrifice of some storage space, I would go with the lenovo (bottom). Unless a 250GB storage difference is an extreme plus for you, Get the Lenovo.
Honestly though I would recommend looking around newegg (and maybe tigerdirect, I've heard people use/recommend it, though I'm not entirely sure about them myself) to see if you can find something more specifically suited to your needs. That or go ask /g/ (And double check any advice they give you).
edit:
Techie, the cheapest laptop I could find on that site was $739, Element said his budget was around $450. Though they do look like some pretty solid hardware, I'll look into those when I finally get around to getting myself a solid laptop.

The Intel graphics can run CS:S as you can see in the video but not most newer games very well.
