Okay so many of my icons on my computer running windows 7 are not right. It's been like this for a while, tried many different things to fix it. Nothing worked. Any advice?

a. Click Start, and open Computer.

d. Then, enter the following directory:
C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Local
e. Find the IconCache.db file, and rename it as IconCache.db.old.

Idk, it's a weird issue, see if soul has an idea to post about it, all I can think of is to use custom icons until then.

Delete IconCache.db in your C:/Users/Username/AppData/Local folder
Then restart and report if you solved the problem...

This is a software issue, not hardware, technically.
Also I don't know how to fix it, nor do I really care because it's the very slightest inconvenience, if even an inconvenience at that.
Turn file extensions back on and or google the issue, I don't have the time to figure it out right now.
