Sounds like your hard drive is dying.

If it is your hard-dirve, you'd have to get a new hard-drive and try to clone your current drive onto it (or install a new OS on it and transfer files you don't want to lose over, which is a cleaner method).
Though I'm not entirely sure it's your hard-drive, just saying that from your symptoms that seems like the most likely case.

Re: Computer Keeps Freezing, Blue Screen, etc.
for backing them up? if you don't have a lot of money to spend on a drive (external or internal) just for this purpose, it can be easier/cheaper to just back them all up to writable DVDs (if your CD/DVD drive can write to them), and be careful not to break them. And then save them back to your new computer when you've installed the OS on to it.

Or a flash/jump/thumb drive. As a precaution, and if you can do it, scan your shit before you move it over, to prevent it from introducing new malware to your new install.
