Hey, I'm looking for a new laptop with at least these minimum requirements:
Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64 processor
3.5 GB of available hard-disk space
1024 MB RAM (1.5 GB if running on a virtual machine)
5400 RPM hard-disk drive
DVD ROM Drive
DirectX 9-capable video card running at 1024 x 768 or higher display resolution
Microsoft Windows 7
At least 2 high speed USB ports
Ethernet port
Wireless network connection 802.11b/g
Virus protection software
Microsoft Office suite 2000 or later
QuickTime software for multimedia features
Anything goes, this list is kinda outdated(I think), so anything better is okay.
$700 or less(might be able to go higher depending on specs), and I'm not looking into building a laptop.
This laptop is for a programming class I'm taking in high school next year and that's the list of minimum requirements they gave to me.
I might use it for gaming as in CS:S too.

Re: New Laptop
I posted this kinda early, so there might be better laptops coming out during summer. I'm probably going to bump this thread late summer again or make a new thread, if I don't get a laptop by then, so be ready to give your recommendations later on too.
Edit: BUT I am still looking for some good brands and stuff like that. The one you posted looks nice soul.

Re: New Laptop
Lenovo is generally a good brand, though it's still good to do comparisons and not just buy something because of the brand it came from.
and will do, if I'm available when you update it, I'll look into it.

Re: New Laptop
Nah, they're going to have a small performance increase, haswell's being developed to consume a lot less energy as it's main goal.
