Graphics card comparison

Post by Consuela »

I was wondering which GPU was generally better. They both run on an intel core-i5 3230m (2.6ghz). The first card is a Radeon HD 8750m 2GB gDDR5. The other one is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M 2gb. Anyone have and answer? I was only able to find one site that compares the two, but i don't want to base myself off only one site. Thnx

Those are pretty irregular cards, any more information you could provide to give us some context into why you're choosing these?

and I can't even find any information about the 8750m, where are you seeing this listed?

oh, these are laptop cards? What are you looking at exactly?

http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/ ... 32361.aspx (this one actually has an i5-3210m, but i dont see much of a difference between the two)

Yeah the Samsung (with the 8750M) is better in most ways, then again that's probably because it's $150 more, but at least it's in stock.

edit: What are you planning on using this for, anyways? any kind of intense gaming what exactly is the plan, maybe some CAD or something that needs a lot of processing?

cause I've found some Lenovos that would be better for processor intensive stuff, but not so great at running games at max settings, due to a lack of a dedicated GPU, though intel's integrated Radeon HD 4000 isn't bad, it'd certainly be enough to play CS:S just fine.

i forgot to mention i already bought the samsung for 600$, but i didn't open it so I'm still looking around. I will be using it to game abit (nothing too intense), but mostly for school where i'll be using things like auto-cad and other pretty heavy programs. Do u mind linking some of the lenovos you found? I'll take a look at them. Thnx

If you got the Samsung for $600 I'd just keep it, it should be fine.
