I was looking for a new build -hdd, gpu, ram, dvd burner.
I already have a all of those.
GTX 760 2GB
1.5 TB Hard Drive
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
and a random DVD burner.

Soul recommended these to me and I was wondering if I can improve on this, or should just get this.
New build.

Re: New build.
Looks pretty good. Here's what I'd change:
Power supply: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power- ... p1550sxxb9
Uses 100% Japanese capacitors and is of a solid Seasonic design. It's much higher quality than Corsair's CX line, which uses chinese caps. It's also cheaper than the CX600. 550w is plenty for an i5 & GTX 760, and will also allow for some overclocking headroom.
Hyper 212+ is only 1-2c warmer than the 212 Evo. I don't think it's worth the extra $5-10 that the evo costs.

Another suggestion would be a 120GB SSD for your boot drive and common applications. This makes booting windows really quick. If you don't care about this, then don't bother.

Re: New build.
The PSU change is fine, though it's odd that under "Haswell support" it says "no" but then goes on to list "Haswell Ready" under features, maybe it doesn't support the Haswell's very low power sleep mode, no idea.
The CW CX 600w is rated for a bit more powerful amperage, and is modular, and would make cable management easier, though again shouldn't really affect performance between the two, so getting the cheaper one would be advisable if cable management isn't going to be a bother.
However, If you look at the total cost including shipping, the Evo and + are the same price (after rebate), similar enough if you don't want to go through the process of dealing with the rebate, though, so would be an okay change as well.

Re: New build.
I personally have a 120GB SSD for my boot drive, the start up speed for me takes around 10 seconds to get to my desktop. Really nice to have if you need to make a quick restart on your computer. Or if your just an impatient person.goinundercover wrote:Another suggestion would be a 120GB SSD for your boot drive and common applications. This makes booting windows really quick. Re: New build.
The one at newegg should be Haswell certified.

If for some reason it isn't, he can always disable Haswell's C7 sleep state in the UEFI, I suppose.

Re: New build.
I've got an XFX Pro 650W in my build, got no complaints. Works like a dream.
