My new Tritton Kunai Microphone
I dont want to sound like an idiot, But i cant get this damn microphone to sound good in a server.
It sounds fine in Steam Voice chat, and when i test it, it sounds fine, but when i Talk in tf2 there is static and humming noises and it bothers me.
Please someone help me on how i get this fixed, i dont want to have to grab a new mic.

You may have some different setting, because it wouldn't just work with steam voice chat and not TF2.

He mentioned to me that he also tested it in-game with feedback on his mic.Varple wrote:You may have some different setting, because it wouldn't just work with steam voice chat and not TF2.

Re: My new Tritton Kunai Microphone
Is it USB? I have a USB mic that gets very specific shitty feedback in GO, that I don't have any feedback problems with any other program when I try to solve it.
It's either a problem with GO's handling of the microphone itself, or the codec it's using doesn't like the input it's getting from specific mics, if I ever find a solution I'll make sure to post it here, but it's not exactly on my priority list of things to look into.

Re: My new Tritton Kunai Microphone
Thank you
Edit: Ok ive figured out the problem, but cant fix it. The Option to disable Booting Gain in the TF2 Voice options will not stay unchecked, therefore my gain is always boosted in tf2. I do not know how to fix this if someone could help me

Re: My new Tritton Kunai Microphone
From what I can tell adding "voice_maxgain 0" to your autoexec.cfg should help with the problem.
If it works for you let us know, as I know several other people who have had the same issue.
