Got a new build also, not nearly as expensive as yours!
Spoiler
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4.00GHz
MB: ASUS Z97-AR
RAM: 8GB (4 x 2GB sticks) DDR3 1333 MHz (i think, temporary until i decide i need more.)
GPU: GTX970 4GB
PSU: 1000W gold grade (not sure who the manufacter is.)

Other stuff:
256GB SSD (possibly getting another SSD, depending on if i need it.) might i say SSD's are best thing ever. my computer boots in 6 second from turn on.
2TB HDD

Stuff i'm getting later on:
Liquid cooling for my CPU, i'm temporarily using the default cpu fan (couldn't afford the liquid cooling atm.)
also need a 8$ SSD tray to hold it in place
144hz monitor, needing this for a while now, still saving up for one though.
new keyboard/mouse, been using a cheap 10 keyboard, would like to get a cherry mx or something along those.
If im feeling up to it ill expand to another gtx970, but im pretty happy with the results as i am now. I might get a new case for my old computer and buy a new power supply for it, just so i can have a better extra PC.

Overall cost: $1,100 ( i need to do all the rebates still.. almost forgot, there's a couple hundred back!)

what do you expect from a ~$250 less gpu from it's counter-part 980..
I haven't had any issues with my gpu.

I personally wouldn't have gotten such low clock memory, but I suppose if the machine is only being used to play games it's fine.

I obtained the memory free from my dad's work. Since my budget was only 1,100 (i needed at least 100$ to survive for the next 2 weeks lol.) i decided to get the things i couldn't afford later on. Plus my birthday is this friday, maybe i can get my parents to get me some better ram. lol.

It probably would only make a really small difference, and definitely not worth the cost.
