Sound Problem

Post by Armen »

So it just happened today and I don't know what I did to make it this way.
But there is no sound on ANY browsers that I've tried (Chrome, EI, and Firefox).
There is sound in games and other non-browser products except a couple of games also dont work with sound.

I checked my mixer and playback/recording devices and everything is fine.
What else could be a problem?

aherm...karma. But maybe be a little more specific? Are you using a headset, speakers etc? It may have to do with faulty hardware, try using different output devices and see if the problem persists.

Do you have 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound headset?

7.1 I think.
I also tried using another headset and same thing.
I got the sound to work again but it sometimes still has no sounds.

make sure it is set up as 7.1 first.

If its set up, then right click your headset and click test. If it goes through all the speakers, and you can hear everything, then I'm not sure what the problem is. But if you can only hear the first two speakers, but it continues to test without any sound coming through, a temporary fix is to unplug the headset and reconnect it. It seems to be a problem with how windows handles 7.1 headsets, and I have yet to find a permanent solution
