A Complaint Against One Of Your Members

Post by Duplolas »

You have a member named -[FF]- Halenex who recently sharked me.

He had a Strange Invis Watch for sale for 8 Keys. I offered him an item I thought for worth 4 keys that had a 2.5 key paint on it. I then also added 2 keys because of overpay in items. What I had not realized was that the item was actually worth 5-6 Keys and that he had known this too. So basically he sharked me out of 1-2 Keys and also stated that because I said it was worth 4 keys that I sharked myself.

Chat Log:

-[FF]- Halenex: You got yourself SHARKED!
[db] Duplolas: Well you KNEW it was 5-6
[db] Duplolas: You cant shark yourself
-[FF]- Halenex: i thought it was 5
[db] Duplolas: sharking is when you knowingly go for a lower price when its worth more
-[FF]- Halenex: then you told it me was 4
[db] Duplolas: you knew
[db] Duplolas: you said you did
-[FF]- Halenex: so i thought YAY cheaper price and didn't think it was actually 4 keys

I asked him nicely to return a key to me to make the trade fair and he didn't. As 1 key would make it an even trade taking low end prices.

[db] Duplolas: wow
-[FF]- Halenex: :/
[db] Duplolas: it says 5-6 keys
[db] Duplolas: you dont think youd be willing to give me back a key?
-[FF]- Halenex: :/
[db] Duplolas: please. I thought it was 4 and its actualy 5-6
[db] Duplolas: 5 being the low end
[db] Duplolas: you still have a great deal
[db] Duplolas: and a nice hat
-[FF]- Halenex: best deal i ever made :)
-[FF]- Halenex: thanks!

So after I asked him nicely and he didn't return it to me. So I threatened to report him and he posted a Steam Community page asking what to do making me look like a loser. Leaving out all of the stuff he and I had said previously.

I would really appreciate something to be done. You don't need to give me a key or anything like that, but I just hate to see people knowingly shark a person and then blame it ON THEM!

Thank you for your time.

We have a price checking tool in our servers if you type !pc. Next time I suggest you use that before your trade so you can make a educated decision.

This was a tf2outpost trade. I was not on a trade server and trusted him on the price.

And that's your own fault because you had even more time to look up prices with all the various pricechecking resources available to you.

I'll be honest though, I've seen Halenex around on other servers before, namely low grav/crit servers, and he's a real cunt. Just my 2 cents.

In the store it's worth $2.50 but traders commonly sell it for $1.20.

While that is understood, that's not going to help in this situation.

I just need to know how much the items were actually worth that were being traded. (We do have a no scamming policy).
