How did I do this?
So my hard drive became misaligned, and being the cheap fuck that I am, tried to realign it. Using pieces of paper and a paper clip extending past the read head for leverage and precision, using pieces of printer paper to align to the partition line. Somehow my computer is running again, and I'm about to run chkdsk to see if there are any more problems.

If its working now back it up buy a new hard drive and quit being cheap

My hard drive ran into a disk failure last night. I'm currently backing up my entire C Drive, including Windows to make way for a brand new drive.hisiglemic wrote:If its working now back it up buy a new hard drive and quit being cheap

But its running stable again, and I have it scheduled to run chkdsk every morning at 5 am then shut down after saving a log.

If it's up and running take a backup of all your important stuff before you can't anymore.
