Goro Majima from Yakuza!

Boss Name: Majima

Boss Info: Goro Majima is a CRRRAAAZZY character from the Yakuza series and serves as a reoccurring protagonist/antagonist in some of the earlier games. The Majima I'm basing this boss suggestion off of is from Yakuza Kiwami design-wise, however, the gameplay I'll be mentioning is from Yakuza 0. Majima is known for being absolutely insane, using crazy moves, attacks, and knife-wielding to do some major damage to his enemies.

While he's intimidating, he's lovable and an absolute blast to use in Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami 2. I'd love to see that here for one of my favorite game modes as well.

Boss Class: Scout

Boss Weapons: Knife (Black Rose)/Bat/Fists (weapons would tie with his abilities that I'll explain later)

Boss Health: One health state; total health at 32 players: 30000+ (someone please fact check me on this)

Boss Abilities: This is where things get interesting!

To stay close to his design in the games, he has three ability modes he can switch to (think Shulk with the R key). The switch is not instant like Shulk's, and could maybe be accompanied by an animation:

While in Thug mode, he would use the Black Rose. Thug mode is the standard style in Yakuza 0, where it's nothing too special. For thug mode, he can:
  • Super jump
  • Weigh down
Thug mode melee damage would be similar in damage to most other bosses, he can kill low health classes in one shot but not higher health classes. He shares a similar speed to most bosses (Saxton Hale speed) in Thug mode. He also has the standard knockback.

While in Slugger mode, he would use the bat. Slugger mode is the strong style in Yakuza 0, where he can do major damage to his opponents. For Slugger mode, he can:
  • Weigh down
Slugger mode melee damage is similar to Chell's base damage (which is very strong). The difference in Slugger mode is that Majima would suffer from no knockback, takes moderately less damage, and damages buildings significantly. However, he moves slower in slugger mode and cannot super jump.

Breaker mode is VERY special. While in Breaker mode, Majima will use his fists. Breaker mode is the (somewhat) fast style in Yakuza 0, where he can spin around groups of enemies and chip at their health. For Breaker mode, he can:
  • Dash
  • Weigh down
Breaker mode melee damage is much less than other bosses (somewhere around Bonk Boy's melee damage). However, all of his attacks do moderate AOE damage around him (think Shovel Knight's rage). He also has a slightly faster base speed. Dashing into enemies will stun them as well.

Boss Rage: Enemies are stunned and a ring of knives will appear around Majima. After three seconds, the knives will electrify, damaging those within it.

End: I'd love for some thoughts on this! I know Yakuza is kinda niche but I really think this character can work as a boss!
