Fishermatt's name comes from a sad experience he had as a child.

When he was but a little boi, he was fishing at the local lake with his drunken father. The two of then started bonding through details I dare not mention. Anyways, the boy eventually gets a bite, to which his father replies "looks like you got a big one--the fish, that is; you're smaller than MY father's."

The boy reeled a perfectly healthy 14 inch bass. That bass looked straight at the boy with its mouth wide open, prompting the boy to give it a name. "I'll call you Matt." His father wasn't pleased with the name, but he took his son by the hand and they skipped back to the car.

On the drive home, the father started teaching his son about fish love and being a gay fish.
