What resolution are you going to play on? 1920x1080 makes a big difference than playing 1400x900.

All i have right now is an 1120 x 700 monitor, so ill be using that for at least a few months until i get a 1920x1080

EDIT: I know it's crappy, but im tight on money, and it was only $20

Tempted to ban you.

Really hard.

Anyways, get this instead: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/28yDp , That line of AMD CPUs have really shitty architecture and are misleading people by saying they have twice as many cores as they actually have. Also they're power hogs.

I might go with undercover's, as i can save $50, get good performance for the price, and get a game or two with the $50

AMD's chips are weaker core for core compared to Intel, and I think we all know that. However, they've got a much better price to performance ratio, and the FX-6300 is comparable to the low-end i5s if the program is optimized for multiple cores. After all, as long as the CPU isn't bottlenecking the GPU, it should be fine. I'd emphasize on a better GPU as having a faster CPU with a mediocre GPU won't really increase FPS. As for being a power hog, the difference is quite subliminal. People have compared FX-8350s to i5s and have found the cost of the electrical bill to only have gone up a dollar or two.
