Now after the voicecodec bs my mic has decided to be extremely annoying and giving out a loud staticnoise whenever I try and use it.
Is it anyway I can fix it myself or do I need to buy a new mic that will agree with the voicecodec?

What's the name of your headset, because it's a known problem for Corsair headsets if you do have a Corsair.

It's a logitech G230 headset.

How old is it? And yea the common brands like Logitech and and Corsair are having problems. Seems like if it's a USB mic, it most likely will cause a lot of static or interference with your mic when talking. Sorry if I couldn't be of any help, I am just looking around and asking members and staff what they use for a mic and how TF2 effects it. If I find a fix, I will inform when I can. Just need to gather info.*Trying to find a fix*

3months. Works perfectly fine on steam chatvoice and skype and ts.
Just not in game. I've tried to turn down mic boost, volume and fix general settings. But it resets everytime I close settings down and it's super static. hasn't done this before/

High chances are, you will need to buy a new mic. I talked to Fire and gave me the answer to just buy a new mic.

If its USB I know several friends who have/have had the same issue, with several different USB headphones. If it is, I know the issue has been fixed for few guys simply by changing the USB slot.

But then the value of it should be refunded to you, if you return it/replace it to where you bought it :o Logitech offers a long insurance on their products.

Yea, as I have heard they do give long insurance plans on their products. It may kinda suck having to possibly buy a cheaper headset that may have worse quality in audio or its texture when you put them on or its in-general appearance. Then again, it's complete up to you. You could possibly just buy a $15 dollar headset from amazon and then just keep the Logitech and when you don't need the $15 dollar headset when playing different games, you can just go back to your Recording Devices and easily set it back to the Default which is your Logitech sense you said it's wireless/non-USB. Again, completely up to you.
