Random un closeable pop-ups
I do not know if this is something on the server or if it just me but it only seems to happen on Freak Fortress #1 for me, but a random pop up will appear and it will not have a way to close except for closing Team Fortress 2 and restarting. I never had this problem on any other server including Freak Fortress #2 from you guys but it seems to happen on #1. Is this only happening to me or is there a problem on Freak Fortress #1?

I got a random ad the other day, your tf2 might be infected and it is just a coincidence it happens on FF2.

Re: Random un closeable pop-ups
Does typeing motd help the add go away or is this different?

Re: Random un closeable pop-ups
Way different. I can only open my console but it will not let me close anything but type in commands. I tried using voice chat but I don't think anyone could hear me so I don't think I was moving or talking on the other side. The motd is something I can deal with and close, but not whatever I am experiencing, this takes over my left screen (Dual monitors, game plays in left) and want to play games with me. Literally, it wants me to play Zombie Cricket or something last time.

Any idea how to fix it? I'm willing to do anything but smash my computer or buy a new one.Hipster_Trip wrote:I got a random ad the other day, your tf2 might be infected and it is just a coincidence it happens on FF2.

Re: Random un closeable pop-ups
If it were only that simple to get a picture of it. It happens randomly so I won't be able to get a picture easily. It also only happens on FF2 Server #1 for me, but it is almost always full. It seems to only happen on that server though.goinundercover wrote:Take a screenshot and post it. I have no idea what you are talking aboutDr. Axel Link wrote:Any idea how to fix it? https://github.com/CasualX/SourceProtect
Install this in your tf folder and it should stop any MOTD popup from making you wait.

And after you add the initial IP to your hosts file it's a good idea to also put in the IP's listed here to completely get rid of being able to see any pop up ad.

Re: Random un closeable pop-ups
It isn't Pinion causing this and I have never forced a wait time on any of my servers.

Re: Random un closeable pop-ups
The protect.cfg blocks anything from opening the MOTD after it's opened once. The other IP's is just incase he ever wants to completely block Pinion, which in that case I don't blame him cause Pinion is fucking annoying.Fire wrote:It isn't Pinion causing this and I have never forced a wait time on any of my servers.
