12 hours. Cropped version. Watercolor. Paper. probably some colorblind retard with parkinson's.

Probably more than 12 hours. Original. Oil. Canvas. Van Gogh.

I put way too much effort in a painting that stuck up like a tent and ended up looking like something a toilet paper company would consider placing upon their products.

Wanted to share this because I need approval and seek attention. help

You made a solid effort at least. What our painting teacher used to tell us back when we had to recreate an existing painting is to lightly sketch out where everything went. Sometimes gridding helps but we usually do that for portraits, I mean landscapes probably works with it too... So you know how far the sky is on the original painting compared to yours or how far that wheelbarrow really is to that mountain of (haystack?)

Blend your colors better. Get the right shade of green in there, use the right brushes, etc etc.

Idk. I'm not a painter.

I haven't really been into art for as long as to say some actual opinion that has any weight, but art isn't a skill that ends up being somewhere that you want it to be at without a lot of time and practice, it becomes frustrating when you compare yourself as there is no way to track if you're actually improving and no way to shortcut it. The best thing to do to improve is to just keep trying and think of your current struggles as something you'll be able to look at in the future and be amazed at your own improvement.

I think we can still see some graphite in the painting. We did do that step about sketching everything. Though some things were indiscernible in the image we were given, so I had no idea what they were. Like the supposed fences near the bottom. I thought those were just fields of wheat. Or the carriage man near the house on the right. I though that was a man fishing or something.

Though I didn't put it all to scale, because 12 hours would've quickly turned into 14. Failed a few things as I remember. Some things were too close or too far away, but I couldn't fix that.

Quick update/Final note: I got a 96% on it so I'm quite happy about my work now and don't feel as trash anymore when it comes to painting.

P.S. Lost my bag containing the painting among all other "artworks" in a bus. Luckily got it back in lost and found so I'm not sad anymore :)

Better than what I can do.

Congrats on the A, by the way.
