A "scrim" is short for scrimage. Have you never played sports?
In sports, it's a mock fight usually between your own team divided up or two teams mock fighting.
In FPS Gaming, it's usually two teams fighting. It's different because it's usually not "mock" (mock compared to tournaments and leagues), and usually not made up of your own team divided, but enemies.

^ Just annoyed me mildly. Sorry for typing with grammar, it's a habit. I literally have to try to type otherwise, and it's not worth my time to try to type a different way. I will, however, translate my wall of text upon request.

well while tech is mildly annoyed, ima explain in an easy way what a css scrim is.

2 teams against each other, each team has 5 players
they must play 2 halfs, each half consists of 15 rounds
the first team to reach 16 won rounds is the winner
if both teams have 15 wins each and end both halfs one of two things can happen
#1 they call a draw and everyone goes home
or #2 they go into a 6 round over time. Each team goes 3 rounds as a t and ct and start with 10k cash at the first round
first to hit 4 rounds during OT wins the match.

thats a scrim :D

oh they are usually in de maps

(this is the less confusing real meaning of what a scrim is in the context that he was asking in)
